Instagram Direct Message – How Do I Use Instagram Direct?

Instagram Direct is a private message feature on Instagram, the popular mobile photo-sharing app.
Instagram is a fully functioning social network, more than just a location for people to post images. You can also send messages to your friends and people you follow privately. Let’s find out how.
Why You Should Use Instagram Direct
Instagram Direct is useful if you have a lot of followers and need to share specific information with specific people. Sometimes, not everything necessarily needs to be shared with everybody — especially if you have such a large audience. It’s also useful if you want to connect more privately with someone you discovered (or who discovered you) on Instagram.
Instagram Direct lets you get more targeted and personal with specific individuals or groups so that you don’t end up spamming everyone else’s feed with photos or videos that aren’t exactly relevant to them.
Instagram Direct allows you to send messages to one or more individuals. On Instagram Direct, you can send the following things as a message:

• Photos or videos you take or upload from your library
• Posts you see in feed
• Disappearing photos and videos
• Profiles
• Text
• Hashtags
• Locations

How to Send Direct Message To People Through Instagram

From the Tab for Messages
Open Instagram and from the main page tap the Direct Message symbol in the top right corner of the home page to get to the messages page. And to see messages you sent using Instagram Direct. From there, the messages you’ve sent and received can be controlled.

Tap the + New Message button and search for the person you want to message.

Tap their name. You can add more people to the message by searching again. Otherwise, tap Next. When you’re done with your message, tap Send. Your message is now sent. They’ll get a notification and be able to reply.
From a Profile Page
You can also send a Direct Message from another user’s profile page.
Go to their profile page and tap the three little dots in the top right corner.

Tap send message and you’ll be taken to a new message. Continue as before.

How to Privately Share a Post
To share a post through a Direct Message, go to the post you want to share and tap the Direct Message icon.

Select one of your favorite contacts or tap the Search icon and enter the name of the contact you want to share the post with.
Enter a message if you want and tap Send. You’ll get a popup saying your message has been sent.
How do I send a disappearing photo or video on Instagram?
You can send a disappearing photo or video either as a group or an individual message.  A disappearing photo or video you’ve sent is no longer visible in their inbox unless you’ve allowed a replay of your message.

• Tap in the top right of the screen. You can also go to your inbox to reply to a disappearing photo or video you’ve received. You can:
• From the main page or Direct Message page, tap the camera icon in the top left.
• Take a photo or video, customise it and tap the Arrow.
• Select the contacts you want to send it to and then tap Send.
• When they next open the app, it will appear at the top of their Direct Messages page. As soon as they view it, it will disappear.
